4,5 hour workshop for English teachers and English Language students at the American Corner.
Topics such as:
- integrating environmental issues into the English curriculum and daily lesson plan
- teaching about environment issues through a foreign language using cross-curricular content or the subject teacher using English as the language of instruction. Case studies/examples.
will be mentioned during the workshop.
The goal of this workshop would be:
· English teachers will be better able to integrate environmental issues such as climate change, biodiversity and healthy living into English language lessons, and will focus on sustaining environmental messaging through English instruction using ongoing programs such as extracurricular activities, plays, and/or other similar targeted activities.
and:
· English language teachers will be better able to integrate environmental issues such as climate change into English language lessons. They will also have strategies for practicing 'green' teaching, e.g., teaching with electronic media and recycled materials, and organizing thematic activities with science teachers
